Keys are never stored by Folio
Privy uses key sharding. The private key is split into pieces, so no single place holds a complete key.
Trading on Folio is a social trading experience with access to several venues: spot liquidity on Uniswap v3 and v4, perpetuals where available, creator Folios as single-ticker baskets, and F-Pool leveraged tokens.
| What you hold | Leverage | Main risk | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spot | The tokenized stock | None | The stock’s own price |
| Perpetuals | A position on Lighter | Up to 20× | Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains |
| Folios | One share token of a basket | None, until leveraged Folios | The creator’s picks, and drift between rebalances |
| F-Pools | An ERC-20 leveraged token | Up to the pool’s cap, live in the app | No floor, and volatility decay |
USDG in, USDG out.Nobody wants to deposit seven tokens in the right ratio, and nobody wants seven tokens back. A router bundles the swaps: pay USDG, receive shares. Burn shares, receive USDG. Direct subscribe and redeem in the basket tokens remain available for anyone who wants the components.
Folio accounts are powered by Privy. You sign in with a social login, and your wallet is created for you. There is no seed phrase to write down and no extension to install.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sign in | Create your account with a Google (Gmail) login. A wallet is generated for it. |
| Key custody | Privy’s infrastructure holds the key. Folio never stores your private key. |
| Signing | Transactions are signed server side, on Folio’s AWS infrastructure. |
| Gas | Transactions are gasless. You do not hold a gas token to trade. |

You can export your private key whenever you want, and import your Folio account into other applications or wallet providers. The wallet is yours, not locked to Folio.
Transactions are signed on AWS infrastructure designed by industry experts for fast, gasless transactions in a secure environment.
