Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using Folio. When you create an account you are asked to accept them, together with the Privacy Policy, before the account is made. They are short on purpose. Folio is early software and this page will grow as the product does.

What Folio is

Folio is a place to build a basket of tokenized equities, raise into it, trade, and post about what you think. It is a piece of software that puts your instructions to a venue or a blockchain. It is not a bank, a broker, an exchange or a fund.

Who can use it

You need to be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, and using Folio has to be lawful there. Your account is yours. Do not share it, and do not use anyone else's.

Your account and your wallet

Signing in creates a Folio account and an embedded wallet through Privy in one step. Privy holds the wallet and its keys. When you authorize trading, Folio's server is added to that wallet as a session signer so it can submit the transactions you ask for. You can decline, and declining means the app cannot trade for you.

What happens on your account is your responsibility, including anything done by someone who gets into your Google or email account.

Email

Folio only sends you launch news and product updates by email if you say yes to them, which you are asked once, after your account is created. Saying no changes nothing else about your account. Every one of those emails carries a link to unsubscribe, and you can do that at any time.

Folio does not give advice

Nothing in this app is investment advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Leaderboards, rankings, folios and everything other people post are information, not guidance, and Folio does not check whether any of it is true or any good. What you trade is your decision.

Folio is in testing

Folio is early software. Tokenized-stock and crypto trades settle in USDG on Robinhood Chain. Perpetuals route to Lighter on Robinhood Chain and settle in USDG. USDG deposits arrive on Robinhood Chain in your embedded wallet. Ethereum USDC can still be received there. Creating, raising into or launching an index fund is not offered on this deployment.

Risk

You can lose money here. Prices move, tokenized equities and crypto markets are volatile, leverage makes losses larger and faster, and a position can be liquidated. A transaction written to a blockchain cannot be reversed by us or by anyone. The app can be unavailable, can show stale prices, and can change without notice.

What you post

What you post stays yours. By posting it here you let Folio show it inside the product, in the feed, on your profile and anywhere else the app displays posts. You are responsible for it, and you should only post what you have the right to.

Using it fairly

Do not use Folio to break the law, to impersonate someone, to manipulate a market, to harass people, or to attack, scrape or overload the service. Do not try to reach parts of it you have not been given access to.

Ending it

You can stop using Folio whenever you like, and you can ask us to remove your account by writing to contact@folio.market. We can suspend or end access to an account that breaks these terms or where the law requires it.

No warranty

Folio is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, correct, or fit for anything in particular. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it, including trading losses.

Governing law

Not settled yet. There is no company behind Folio and no jurisdiction has been chosen, so this page does not claim one. When that is decided, it will be named here.

Changes

When these terms change, the new version goes up on this page and the date at the top moves. Carrying on using Folio after that means the new version applies.
